GCVSDPA Newsletter Spring 2010 now available
The GCVSDPA today publishes its Spring 2010 newsletter as part of the commitment given in its recently published Participation Statement for the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley Strategic Development Plan.
This is the first of four newsletters to be published during 2010.
The Spring 2010 newsletter outlines the ongoing work of the GCVSDPA for its first Strategic Development Plan, in particular trying to gain an understanding of the implications of the current recession on the future economic direction for the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley area.

Glasgow and the Clyde Valley Strategic Development Plan
Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement 2010 now available
The Glasgow and the Valley Strategic Development Planning Authority (GCVSDPA) today publishes its
second Development Plan Scheme (DPS) and Participation Statement for the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley Strategic Development Plan for the period 2010 / 2011.
The purpose of the Development Plan Scheme, which will be reviewed annually, is to set out the Authority’s programme for preparing, reviewing and consulting on its Strategic Devlopment Plan. The next major stage in the preparation of the SDP will be the publication of the Main Issues Report in September 2010.

Annual Report 2009 now available
The Joint Committee today publishes its Annual Report 2009.
The document focuses on the work of the Joint Committee over the last twelve months and covers
- Scottish Ministers decision on the Fourth Alteration relating to the designation of Commercial Centre Retail Locations;
- the new planning system in Scotland;
- the work of the GCVSDPA Futures Group
- Housing Need and Demand Assessment

Vacant and Derelict Land Monitoring Report 2009
The GCVSDPA today publishes the Vacant and Derelict Land Monitoring Report 2009 for the Glasgow and Clyde Valley area and provides a statistical base and policy context for the monitoring of changes in the scale and nature of vacant and derelict land.
The Vacant and Derelict Land Survey is undertaken annually (base date 31 March) and relates to the Scottish Vacant and Derelict Land Survey which is co-ordinated by the Scottish Government’s Communities Analytical Services Department.
The Vacant and Derelict Land Survey requires each local authority to monitor a range of issues in terms of vacant and derelict land including, take-up of land, fall out of land to a vacant or derelict state, site characteristics such as area, previous use, preferred use, ownership and length of time vacant or derelict.

GCV Housing Need and Demand Assessment webpage
The eight constituent local authorities of the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley are working together to produce the first Glasgow and the Clyde Valley Housing Need and Demand Assessment (GCVHNDA) to assess housing need and demand to 2025 for all tenures across housing market areas.
The work is being undertaken by the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley Housing Market Partnership and will inform the Strategic Development Plan, Local Development Plans and Local Housing Strategies.
Today we are delighted to launch the GCVHNDA webpage which provides information on the work that we are undertaking and register to receive updates on the HNDA.
This new Housing Market Partnership signals a change in approach to strategic planning of housing requirements in the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley area in response to the recommended approach set out by the Scottish Government.

GCVSDPA Newsletter Winter 2009
The GCVSDPA today publishes its Winter 2009 newsletter as part of the commitment given in its recently published Participation Statement for the Glasgow and the Clyde Valley Strategic Development Plan.
This is the final newsletter for 2009. Further newsletters will continue to be published throughout 2010.
The Winter 2009 newsletter outlines the ongoing work of the GCVSDPA for its first Strategic Development Plan, in particular the progress being made with regard to preparing the Housing Need and Demand Assessment, the impact of the recession on the Glasgow Airport Rail Link project and the completion of the first stage of work by the Futures Group.
