The Green Network Programme has three main areas of activity:
- Flagship projects - encouraging and supporting a strategic approach to the planning and long term management of greenspace associated with major redevelopment initiatives: Clyde Waterfront; Clyde Gateway; and
Ravenscraig.
- Neighbourhood projects - encouraging the creation and improved management of greenspace linked to housing areas, especially regeneration, community growth and urban expansion areas.
- Themed projects - cross-cutting initiatives promoting particular qualities and values of greenspace and encouraging the active engagement of local communities in its design, use and management.
In each of these areas the Green Network Programme seeks to add value to the work of those organisations already acting to improve the quality of greenspace within their area, encouraging greater integration across boundaries, promoting the development and uptake of good practice, and helping to align resources for maximum impact.
